What I'm Watching on Netflix UK | August 2018

What I'm watching on Netflix UK

At the moment I have been spending a lot of time watching Netflix, nothing new there! At the moment I have been watching it a lot more than usual though as I am waiting for my university course to start in September so Netflix has been filling my extra time when I’m not writing blog posts or seeing my friends.

I have always loved watching TV and movies since I was growing up as I loved fantasising about fairytale adventures and falling in love whilst I was curled up in a blanket with a hot chocolate. I watched Snow White so many times back to back when I was seven or eight that I couldn’t bare anyone to mention its title or anything to do with snow white and the seven dwarfs. I still continue to watch things until I can’t stand them but thankfully this hasn’t happened to Friends as of yet and I've been watching it for 5 years! However, the Friends theme song gets under my skin a little bit now as it gets stuck in my head for days at a time!

Anyway, I’m going to stop blabbering on and tell you what I have been watching on Netflix recently!

One of my guilty pleasures currently is Reign; an American historical romantic drama that follows the rise of Mary Queen of Scots and her political intrigue through 4 seasons. I have currently just started season 4 and I honestly will be heartbroken once I reach the end of the series as I feel like I know each of the characters.
I have also watched recently To the Bone which is about Ellen, played by Lily Collins, a 20-year-old who suffers from anorexia nervosa. To the Bone gives an empathetic and insightful look at the widespread issue of eating disorders. However, this film is NOT recommended for those who struggle with this issue or anything similar.

Hurricane Bianca; an American independent comedy about Richard moves from New York to a small town in Texas for a teaching role then gets fired. Richard returns and gets rehired whilst being in drag as Bianca and plots sweet revenge. Hurricane Bianca stars Roy Haylock who is better known by the stage name Bianca Del Rio and for being a contestant on season 6 of Ru Pauls Drag Race, which by the way I also love to watch.

I have recently watched To All the Boy's I've Loved Before; a film about a girl whose secret love letters get exposed and her daily high school life is more than turned upside down. The flow and also the speed of the plot was just absolutely perfect. This is the best rom-com that has come out in a really long time and for anyone who knows me knows that I have a huge guilty pleasure for teenage romantic comedies so that's saying something!

What are your Netflix recommendations? Have you got a favourite movie or TV programme? I would love to hear your suggestions and your thoughts on the programs I have mentioned in my post.
